An interactive system showcase for the automation layer that sits between the tools a company already uses — every rule here can be paused, activated and inspected.
This is a Northbound showcase. Workflow Automation Suite is a fictional product created by Northbound Studio to study this problem. It is not a client and has never engaged the studio.

The problem
A business grows into six tools that do not talk to each other, and a person becomes the integration layer — re-typing the same record into each one.
Design approach
Exception-first. Automation that runs cleanly is invisible; the interface gives its largest surface to the handful of things that genuinely need a person.
What we did
- Rules expressed as a readable trigger and a visible chain of steps.
- A run history so every automated action can be audited after the fact.
- Failures escalate to a human approval queue instead of retrying silently.
- Integration coverage shown as a percentage per part of the business.
Conversion structure
Internal tool. Success is hours returned to the office and fewer dropped follow-ups.
