Ridgeline Roofing
A design study exploring how an emergency-response contractor should look when a homeowner finds them at 9pm with water coming through a ceiling.
This is a Northbound showcase. Ridgeline Roofing is a fictional business created by Northbound Studio to study this problem. It is not a client and has never engaged the studio.

The problem
Most contractor sites bury the phone number and open with a stock photo of a smiling family. In an emergency that costs the job to whoever answers first.
Design approach
Urgency-first. Bold condensed type, a permanently visible call bar, and licensing proof above the fold.
What we did
- A fixed emergency call bar that never leaves the viewport.
- License, insurance and warranty proof directly under the headline.
- Storm-damage triage and insurance-claim guidance instead of a generic service grid.
- A financing note placed exactly where price anxiety appears.
Conversion structure
Phone call as the primary conversion, with a secondary free-inspection form for non-emergency visitors.
What the study demonstrates
- Contact is one tap away from every scroll position.
- Trust signals precede sales language.
- Structure transfers directly to HVAC, plumbing and restoration trades.
