Meridian Enterprise Suite
An interactive system showcase built around permissions: choose a demo account and the role decides which modules exist and how much of the business each screen is allowed to show.
This is a Northbound showcase. Meridian Enterprise Suite is a fictional product created by Northbound Studio to study this problem. It is not a client and has never engaged the studio.
Simulated business system — fully operable inside Northbound Studio, with fictional data.
The problem
Enterprise tools show everyone the same interface and rely on people not clicking the wrong thing, which is a governance problem long before it is a UX problem.
Design approach
Permission-first. Rather than one dashboard with things hidden, each role gets a different application built from the same platform.
What we did
- A controlled demo sign-in with five roles and no credentials of any kind.
- Module sets, layout register and data depth that change per role.
- A client role that runs as an external portal rather than an admin console.
- An access and audit trail visible only to the executive role.
Conversion structure
Internal platform. The measure is how little each person has to ignore to do their job.
What the study demonstrates
- Shows enterprise-grade role modelling in a way a visitor can actually test.
- Entirely fictional accounts and figures — nothing is authenticated or stored.
- Transfers to multi-division firms, franchises and companies with external clients.
