The problem
Booking tools either handle the calendar or the business, rarely both, so owners reconcile revenue against appointments by hand.
Design approach
Calendar-first. The day view is the home screen; reporting is a consequence of the schedule rather than a separate discipline.
What we did
- A run sheet that reads cleanly on a phone between appointments.
- Day and week views that share one data model.
- Staff utilisation surfaced next to the schedule that produces it.
- Service menu pricing tied directly to booking volume.
Conversion structure
Internal tool. Utilisation and cancellation rate are the numbers that matter.
What the study demonstrates
- Visually distinct from the contractor system despite shared primitives.
- Demonstrates responsive calendar UX, the hardest part of this category.
- Transfers to salons, clinics, detailing, cleaning and wellness.
